House to Ourselves = [tea]PARTY!

Roommate/husband left today for out of town business. I used to hate these weeks because single-motherhood is exhausting. Recently I learned to enjoy having the house to just Gaia and me and not having to stress over having someone else brooding about.  Plus, I suppose it gives me a head start on the us-having-separate-homes thing happening in May. (The divorce will be happening after tax season, in case you were wondering.)

I plan to make lots of messes and organize as much as I can get my hands on. I’m in the (very slow) process of going through all of my things and ridding myself of unnecessary stuff. I can’t get rid of craft stuff, and I have a  hard time getting rid of clothing. I mean if it’s too big I just try to take it in/up. If it’s too small I throw it in the bin that’s mostly maternity clothing and tiny baby girl dresses. It’s harder than it sounds, but I’m working on it.

I have a few projects I want to do this week:

I also have some new recipes to try out. Hutch is coming over on Wednesday and I’ve already promised Baked Potato Soup and Shirley Temple Cupcakes. 🙂

I was up super late last night making Jalina her Cute-a-saurus hoodie vest. I was on Facebook because one of my favorite things about late-night Facebooking is how people just post video after video. And it was then I discovered Lykke Li. This video was the one that sucked me in, so I thought I’d share it for music Monday:

I wound up doing almost all the things I was supposed to this weekend. I did not go to MegaCon because apparently when he said “we can go,” my [soon to be ex-]husband was referring to him and Gaia. Not a big deal really because I enjoy the few hours I do get to spend to myself on the weekends not in class. This is part of the reason why my blog got a dandelion make-over.

Sadly, with the roommate gone I won’t bee getting my runs in. I could do one or two if I don’t get distracted by the boyfriend, but either way I’m going to try and stay on track with intense cardio workouts instead. My last run on Saturday morning was almost a mile and a half total. That, for me my friends, is truly amazing.

Today is a lazy day… Hot chocolate and tea and G-rated family movies. Ahhh, relaxation. (I swear I have always loved Mondays. Even when I worked two jobs and went to school Mondays were still fun because once you were finished doing all the things you could just go home and relax because there were no deadlines early in the week. I just. Love. Mondays!)

  1. Happy Monday, then!!

  2. Bless your heart. You’ve got a lot to deal with. Not being to get my runs in would kill me. It’s such a stress relief. Hope you find balance and some time to yourself during your “roommate’s” absence.

Youth really does know no pain. Nice MM tie in.

    • I’m a new runner, so I’m not at the point where I miss it too much. I just hope I don’t lose the stamina I built up last week. I finally got to a decent distance without cramping up. Having to start over would be a bummer.

  3. That video sucked me in, too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing – enjoy your relaxing day today! 🙂
