Tea Time

It has come to the point where I am living out of boxes. I don’t have any of my craft stuff out anymore. I don’t feel that horrible about it because I’ve got some awesome tutorials for you next week as part of my moving guest post extravaganza. Oh yeah, next week is going to be fun!

Instead I am going to share with you a secret. I love tea.

The fact that I love tea is no secret. I have a whole giant box just for my tea to be packed away in. And although I’m frugal, I am kind of serious about my tea. I have tons of lose leaf tea in the bottom of the box, but I admit I haven’t drank any of that for a while as I lost my tea ball. *cries*

But I do prefer tea over coffee. Don’t get me wrong, I like coffee. I just love tea.

Today I had several cups of “Easy Now” tea from Traditional Medicinals. My mum ordered me a whole case of that stuff because I need to relax more.

Anyhow, on with the secret…

My humanities instructor is also very passionate about tea. Probably more so as he buys lose leaf tea in bulk on a  regular basis. He was going off on this fantastic tangent during class Saturday about tea and he provided the recipe for the prefect cup of green tea. We were sworn to secrecy, but I can’t help but share. (Don’t fail me professor!)

The perfect cup of green tea:

  1. Boil water. Pour into cup and let sit for 3 minutes. (Adding the tea leaves too soon might scorch them.)
  2. Add about a teaspoon of green tea leaves.
  3. Let sit for 2 minutes, 35 seconds. No more than 2 minutes, 50 seconds. (This is the crucial part!)
  4. Remove the leaves.
  5. Add a bit of sugar if you wish. Never add creme to green tea.

It’s truly fantastic. If you are a tea drinker, try it for yourself!
