This Weekend Matters

Today was an unplanned day of pampering myself. I had the car and was all alone, so I went to spend some gift cards. I bought myself my first ever pair of old lady pants (you know… the slacks where the entire waistband is elastic) so I’d have something to wear outside the house that wasn’t a maxi dress. I also decided that after 18 months of going “natural” I’d dye my hair again.

You know that feeling you get when you have to just do something different with your hair? I have been getting so antsy with mine and even thought about trying a pixie haircut! No bueno for these thick locks. I was toying with the idea of finally going purple, but because of my bump I didn’t feel as if bleaching my hair was a good idea. Simple boxed dye will do.

I know what color suits me and I buy the same exact thing every time: Revlon Color Silk #45 – Bright Auburn.

The color is a lot more red in real life and not in my bathroom. I’m pleased and I’m glad I finally decided to go back to dying my hair. I also scored a nice shade of mint nail polish:

That’s two coats with a matte top coat and then normal shiny tips. It’s pretty, right? It matches my cardigan perfectly and I’m in love.

Overall today was pretty relaxed. Tomorrow is Hutch’s birthday and so I made muffins already for breakfast. I think productivity is slowly returning to me…

  1. The color looks great on you and I totally love your “blah” picture! 🙂

  2. Very pretty! Love the shiny tips! Hope the muffins are delicious!

  3. Cute “blah” picture. 🙂
I love the color you dye your hair. And I’m jealous because I wish my hair was as pretty as yours! Hopefully mine will start looking like it used to look when I had it longer. Finally getting it past my shoulders, thankfully! I swear, I’m going to buy me a short hair wig, because there’s some days I just want short hair, but I then regret it after I get it cut because I love my hair long, too.

    Happy birthday to Hutch! 🙂

  4. Your hair looks great, and I love that nail polish color! If I could ever stop biting my nails, I’d would be able to paint mine pretty colors. Alas, even the motivation of using all my polish on something other than toes that never get seen isn’t enough to keep my darn fingers out of my mouth!

  5. You deserve pampering – your nails look great!

  6. Your hair looks really good. It looks like you did a great job with a home kit!

  7. Pretty nails, pretty hair!

Stopping by from the linkup 🙂

  8. I totally feel you on the “what to do with my hair” front. I’ve been wanting a change, but I’m not sure what to do. So status quo it remains. Love the nails, too!

  9. Love that mint polish!

  10. Pampering is so important. Especially when pregnant. I am glad you got to do the things you like

  11. How fun to have an unexpected pampering day. Good for you!
