Gaming and Snacking & Pregnancy Laziness

I am 39 weeks today and I’m not feeling up to doing much of anything lately. Call it pure laziness if you’d like, but I can be found either on the computer snacking my way through matches of free online video games, or chilling on the couch admiring my belly. It is true that as time goes on I am totally in pain and writhing through the motions of every day, but during these quiet moments I look down and I realize that yes… I will miss my belly.

I am about to waddle my way up to the gas station for my daily Mountain Dew and BBQ Lays (I’m horrible, I know). Every time I decide to make the trek I battle with myself. Is it really worth it? Yes, it’s totally worth it. See, I’m a snacker. And although soda and chips aren’t the best foods to be consuming, I am at that point where I don’t even care.

Aside from the daily sin mentioned above, I have had some healthy cravings lately and you would be proud. My fridge is filled with fruits and veggies and my pantry is stocked with granola bars galore. We’ve tried to stay prepared for when the baby arrives, but I can’t help but scarf down all the delicious goodies. I tried something totally out of character lately that I have to share with you. It’s called I Heart Keenwah and it’s totally delicious.

I Heart Keenwah is a tiny scrumptious snack food made from quinoa. For the record, I don’t like quinoa in the traditional form. The texture drives me nuts and I always pass. I am aware that quinoa is really good for you, but I haven’t been able to make it a part of my diet. But with these little granola-like bites, I could easily get all that wonderful protein quinoa has to offer. There are currently four flavors: chocolate sea salt, ginger peanut, cranberry cashew (yummy!), and almond.

You can buy I Heart Keenwah at Abe’s Market for $4.99 a bag. For me, snacking pregnant lady, one bag lasted me two sittings.

Disclaimer: I was provided with one bag of almond flavor of this product free of charge to review, however all opinions are genuine and my own. I shall not tell lies!

  1. Glad I’m not the only one that craves things that are bad for you. I’m a sweets eater, like CRAZY. Although I limit the soda and try my best to drink lots of water I cave. Thankfully some of my cravings are fruit, celery and carrots. 🙂 I could eat carrots right now! LOL

  2. Wishing you a happy and healthy delivery! My baby girl is 7 months old now and I do miss my belly – especially feeling her move. I wish you all the best!!

  3. I know I’ll miss feeling him move, but I’m ready to be able to snack on my favorite things again.

  4. I like the idea of yummy quinoa snacks! I was bad during oregnancy, too – but as long as your diet is mostly healthy, it’s all good!

  5. At 39 weeks you have the right to eat darned there everything you want. I hadn’t heard of this Keenwah before, but I’ll check it out at Abe’s Market.

  6. that looks delicious, I’ll give it a go! glad to hear you’re doing well! time flies!

  7. I love my sweets! When I was pregnant with my youngest son I only craved olives.

  8. These look so good! I would love to try them.
