Jams for the Littles

I’ve mentioned before how much we love music in this house. My oldest daughter has her own unique tastes. I admit she enjoys those songs that aren’t the most child-friendly, but I adore her style never-the-less. When children are little, sometimes loud music or things too hectic can make them feel uneasy. But let’s face it, kids music is not too exciting for mom and dad either. That’s why I love music like Jammy Jams.

Once Upon This Rock is an album of Christian Rock covers to the tune of lullaby music. The track list is awesome and every tune is something I can sing along to to help soothe my little man to sleep. The Flyleaf track, “Fully Alive,” is my favorite!

I know from experience that having noise in the background makes for a longer, deeper sleep. Without music or background noise every little bump or commotion will startle my son. I have cats who knock stuff over all the time! Not to mention  5-year-old pretend playing and doing weird stuff all day long. It’s nice to be able to put down my son for naps knowing that a little lullaby rendition of music I like will keep him asleep through all the ruckus.

And even when he’s wide awake we play this album. Sometimes my little man just needs to dance a slow song with mama. It’s nice to be able to recognize and enjoy my favorite songs while calming my baby. We’ve happily added Jammy Jams to our collection of lullaby rock covers!

  1. When I was a child I always slept to background music, but that changed after I met my husband and he needed to sleep to a fan,

  2. Oh wow there are some old Christian rock tunes on that album, sounds like it would be a lot of fun for the kiddos.
