Putting My Memories to Work {Review & Giveaway}

Time flies when you’re having fun. So true! May has been filled with so much fun and excitement it’s hard to believe it is almost over. Where is 2014 going?! It’s running away and I can’t keep up!

I’m trying my best to stay organized among my studies, this blog, and normal family stuff like playdates and weekend adventures. I have some exciting things planned for the summer like concerts, theme parks, and road trips. I’m also gearing up for next year. I’ll be completing my student teaching and homeschooling at the same time! Yes, I do believe I am a tad bit insane…

It is very important that I stay organized. I do have a blog planner and I’m beginning to fill in my Simple Homeschool Planner as well. For the family I used to use a dry erase board, but since I’m converting that to part of my homeschooling routine I had to come up with another way.

I wanted to personalize my family planner a little more than usual so I used a calendar template as part of the My Memories Suite. My Memories is a digital scrapbooking software that makes creating lovely photo projects fun and easy. Once I watched a simple tutorial video about the basics, I went in and designed my summer calendar.

Check out all that fun stuff! I told you May was intense. I’ve been known to be overly ambitious.

Since I’m still all caught up in my intense love for my new fancy babywearing wrap, I decided to create some babywearing collages to be a part of my summer calendar. I didn’t wear Gaia as much as I’ve been wearing Anders, but I still wanted to incorporate all those fun times into it. Here’s what I came up with:

MyMemories collage

I used the bottom collage for May. I printed out the collage on top and the calendar on the bottom of a regular 8 x 11″ piece of card stock. I cut it down and framed it and use a dry erase marker to add little notes or cross through events. That way, once I’m done with the calendar part I can cut out the collage and add it to a smaller frame or simply pin to my cork board. Pretty neat, huh?

You can download My Memories directly onto your computer in a matter of minutes! Regularly this software costs $39.97, but if you use my secret code you’ll get $10 off! Just copy and paste the code below when checking out.

My Memories constantly has free templates and embellishments for free to download. It can cost as little or as much as you want to invest in taking your scrapbooking skills to the next level.

One of my lucky readers will win a digital copy of MyMemories Suite 5 for their personal scrapbooking needs! The giveaway is open worldwide and ends at 11:59 pm EST on June 6, 2014. You must visit the My Memories website and comment here telling me what your favorite digital paper pack or layout is. To enter the giveaway, please use the Giveaway Tools form below.

    • The secret to surviving with kids is organization. Trust me, things change and sometimes I just burn all my planners because what’s the point when nothing works out?! However, I need to write things down to get a grasp on everything or else I’d never make it through.
