Out and About with Catwoman {Girls Costumes Review}

I guess it’s normal for a child to be excited about spending summer break with Grandma. Honestly, I thought I’d be excited too. She’s been gone 5 days now and I miss her terribly. And I’m not the only one… Anders has been pretty lonely these last few days. I made sure they had plenty of fun together before she left though. We’re lucky to live in such a child-friendly apartment complex. Sometimes Gaia feels a little more than heroic, so she decided to spend last Friday dressed as one of her favorite DC Comics characters: Catwoman.

As you can see, she’s having quite the blast enjoying her childhood as one of the best female heroes. The costume is of decent quality, though we had some issues with sizing. We had a Padme costume from last year’s comic book convention that was way too small so I sized up for Catwoman. This time it was a little too big. The head piece kept falling off and the mask wasn’t quite snug. Thankfully, she’s a child and adapting to the costume and using her imagination come naturally.

Overall these costumes are the perfect additions to any dress up wardrobe. Click here for more costumes.

Although we had plans to all dress up as characters from Hayao Miyazaki films for Halloween, Gaia has insisted we all dress as super heroes instead. I’m a wonder woman fan myself, so I’m not totally opposed to the idea. We’ll get to try it out this fall when we attend this year’s comic book convention. Here’s to hoping her costume hold up that long, since she’s taken it with her to Grandma’s.

We certainly do miss our crazy Gaia girl. She’ll be gone for another week and a half and I’ll have her for just a  few more weeks before she’s off to Kentucky to visit her other grandma and her Titi Ashton. I’d like to make the trip myself, but that drive with two children is torture.

Do your kids travel without you during summer break?
