Making Expired Breast Milk Lotion (Revised)

A year ago I posted a very exciting and popular article that detailed how to make expired breast milk lotion. I received several inquiries on separation issues. Since I'm such a nice person, I wanted to fix this for my mama friends. I want those of you making this recipe to enjoy it fully with as little issues as possible. I did more research and I've revised my recipe to account for some issues. Breast milk is a great resource for healing skin ailments. Paired with shea butter, coconut oil, and honey this concoction is sure to leave your skin feeling healthy and new. This lotion is great for eczema, rashes, and dry skin. In my … [Read more...]

This Year Make Your Smile Brilliant! {Review}

It's amazing how humbling it is when you take a good look at your teeth. Growing up my mom never put too much emphasis on dental hygiene, but rather left it up to us to take care of our teeth using her own experiences as an example. It must have worked because I never had a cavity in my childhood. It wasn't until I had my wisdom teeth removed that I even saw my first cavity. Now that I'm an adult I take brushing my teeth very seriously. I think most of us can agree that white teeth are attractive. Sometimes a good looking smile can be the cherry on top to looking and feeling good. When I was given the opportunity to work with Smile … [Read more...]

Hand Foot Mouth: Natural Cures and Remedies

Where have I been, you say? Oh, just dealing with normal holiday hustle, work, and... DUN DUN DUN! Our home has been struck with the nasty hand, foot, mouth disease. Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a viral infection that starts with a fever, then turns into a rash. The effects vary, but it's generally a children's illness. Though when the adults get it it can be either really mild or really terrible. I got the former; My husband the later. Poor guy. My son got a mild fever a few days before Christmas. When he broke out in the iconic rash we knew what it was. The fever broken and he was pretty much fine afterwards. Hand, foot, mouth … [Read more...]

Kicking 2015’s butt!

I haven't been feeling very wordy lately, but I wanted to meet my goal of getting this post finished and published. Ironically, my word for this year is ACCOUNTABILITY. Last year my word was TIME, and I wanted to encompass managing my time and fitting in enough space to slow down as well. Though contradictory, I was able to fulfill a lot of my personal desires by reminding myself of that simple word. This year I'm going to try and push that even more by holding myself accountable for my actions and connecting the pathways of my own future through my own actions. I thought on it long enough, and that's the best word I could find to summarize … [Read more...]

The Cure for Fancy Frocks! {Bandelettes Review}

Once upon a time I wore dresses. I've always been partial to pants because I feel like they're on the functional side of daily attire. But a nice frock always gets me excited. I will find a dress I like and horde it. Even if I only wear it to bake Christmas cookies, I will keep it in my closet for years because a fancy frock will make me feel beautiful and womanly in ways none of my pant outfits can. And that, my friends, is worth every inch of space wasted. If you know me personally, or at least well enough to be on my social media channels, you'll maybe have caught that I am at my biggest now than I ever have been thus far in my life. It's … [Read more...]

Simplifying No Poo with Mirasol Farm

Guys, I have a confession: I was sick of the natural beauty routine that made my hair feel both dry and waxy at different intervals between showers. I could tweak forever and play with different methods, but I just want to live an easy life free of chemicals in which my hair still looks fabulous. In a moment of desperation I reached out to Mirasol Farm and begged them to send me more of their fabulous herbal shampoo bar. It seriously does wonders. The herbal shampoo bar from Mirasol Farm is top notch. No matter where I've bathed, no matter the water source... My hair always comes out looking and feeling fabulous. It's important for me to … [Read more...]

Adding Fun to Our Bathtime Routine with Daddy & Company

This three-day weekend was a real doozy for us. The heat down in Florida makes living in the outside world hard, even for us natives! It's a guarentee that if we do decide to venture out into the world everyone is going to come home slightly frustrated and hella stinky. The only cure is a cool shower and a nap. The kids love bubble baths, but as we get more conscious of our choices in the home bath time has suffered a little. I can't tell you how long it's been since I gave up looking for a reliable bubble bath that was long-lasting, smelled good, and also non-toxic for my little one. I thought that bubble baths were just out for us. With … [Read more...]

Fight Head Lice with the Natural Formula of ClearLice

Back to school season... wooo!By this time most of the nation's kids have began their first weeks of public school and us homeschoolers are sitting around wondering what all the hallabalu is about. (I lie, we're actually quite thankful because the parks are quiet.) Moms all over are rejoicing for bittersweet moments of peace and quiet and alone time. Unfortunately this back-to-school business can stimulate other seasonal issues... like head lice. August is peak season for lice infestations because children spend more time with other children. And homeschool children are not left out... A full grown louse can live up to 48 hours off of a … [Read more...]

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff with Tom’s of Maine

Disclaimer: I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser. I struggle with my armpits. Shaving them makes them hurt and most deodorants make them itch and flake. It's always been a constant struggle to find a long-lasting deodorant that will keel me feeling fresh and help me battle the sweltering Florida summers. With all the splash pads, theme parks, and super fun outdoor playdates planned the last thing I want to worry about is whether or not I smell bad. Luckily Tom's of Maine makes a great natural deodorant … [Read more...]

No Poo and Hard Water… It’s “Harder” Than It Looks!

I've been no pooing off and on for the better part of four years. It all started with a desire for less maintenance overall. I had just gotten officially separated from my ex-husband and I was rebelling against his idea of the the perfect woman... who happens to also conform to all of the normal society expectations like wearing make-up, shaving, and spending hours worrying about what everyone else thought of you based on appearances. If you know me at all, you might have a clear picture as to why we couldn't possibly fall in love. Go figure! Anyhow, I just dove in one day and was like "Yeah no poo!" I started with the regular regime of … [Read more...]
