My Neighbor Totoro Themed Cosplay for Tampa Bay Comic Con 2014

Last week I spent a lot of time on creating the perfect outfits to wear to this year's fall convention. We're lucky because we get two... so if we can't make it to Tampa Bay Comic Con in April (which we didn't) we can plan to try again in August. Because of my work schedule we could only go on Sunday, but that's when we got the best deals on merchandise anyway so I'm not sad. Anyhow, now that I have two children I'm dabbling in these family themes for dressing up. (Hutch will get on board eventually. He's already voiced his regret over not playing along last weekend.) Out and About with Catwoman {Girls Costumes Review}

I guess it's normal for a child to be excited about spending summer break with Grandma. Honestly, I thought I'd be excited too. She's been gone 5 days now and I miss her terribly. And I'm not the only one... Anders has been pretty lonely these last few days. I made sure they had plenty of fun together before she left though. We're lucky to live in such a child-friendly apartment complex. Tampa Bay Comic Con feat. Padme Amidala from Star Wars

Ever since I was in high school I've hung out with the nerdy crowd. I used to attend tournaments in comic book shops and spend nights up late watching the boys LAN it up and drink peach schnapps. (We were hardcore.) I have not, however, in my 26 years of life ever been to a comic book convention. That is, until this past weekend. Last Saturday I took my two week old, wrapped him up, and committed to a day out downtown. I'm bad, I know, but I sometimes suffer from cabin fever beign a stay-at-home mom with no car.
