Top 5 Pinterest Finds {May}

I slacked since my last post. I remembered my monthly Pinterest commitment, but forgot again immediately after.  But I am here within reasonable limits, so without further ado...   Top left, clcokwise: 1 // EOY Desk Arrangement // I used this for my last week of school and it worked rather well because I could easily see all students and keep good proximity control. I might try it again for the beginning of this year. 2 // DIY Fidget Spinners // Fidget spinners are soo annoying right now. I have taken more of these than anything else. Well, I lie... I actually recycled more plastic water bottles than anything else... 3 … [Read more...]

Top 5 Pinterest Finds {April}

I haven't found myself with a whole lot of free time lately, and I admit I'm super stressed most of my days. However, I still catalog all my favorite finds on Pinterest and I always pull from there when I find myself needing to create something to call my own. Since I'm attempting to ease back into blogging, I want to see if this idea for my "Top 5 Pins" sticks. So here's my top list from my pins in April. Top left, clockwise: 1 // All-Natural Protective Paw Wax // I added this because I made my sister's dog some protective paw wax over Christmas, and when I came across this recipe I thought it sounded a lot better. I don't have … [Read more...]

Fold a Nursing Cover Without Damaging the Boning

Anders is teething. Molars or something. I don't really know, but I know it's driving me batty. Since I have a busy week next week preparing for our trip to Kentucky (I'm going alone with two kids... kill me), I'm trying my best to stay ahead on my "important stuff." None of which is actually a necessity, but the stress of having things to do makes me feel alive. I work best under pressure. I just got finished writing a letter to an old friend. In it I explained how I've been making these little to-do lists and rewarding myself for crossing things off. I read once that productivity motivates you. Apparently it's best to put easy things on … [Read more...]

Week 3 Pinterest Round-Up

I worked a bit independently this week for my shop. I'm trying desperately to get ready for both Valentine's Day and Dental Hygiene Month, but for some reason kitchen crafting with food is coming a lot easier than sewing or crocheting or even paper crafts. I mainly used Pinterest for inspiration and tried to make minimal trips to the store this week. I did follow the entire recipe for Grown Up Macaroni and Cheese, but I have to say it didn't turn out as good as I would have liked. There was so much cheese in the end! I would definitely suggest that a whole box of pasta should be used. Hutch also says it needs twice as much bacon, but he's a … [Read more...]

Week 2 Pinterest Challenge

I didn't craft diddly this week. I did work a tiny bit on the scarf I was making last week, but I haven't done anything past that. However, I was totally feeling my kitchen and I made all kinds of delicious things. I made taco soup (that was a majority of what we ate this week - so easy and good and reheats nicely!) and asparagus stuffed chicken... Both of those recipes I found on Pinterest. I also found some better than Starbucks iced coffee. I've been craving coffee a ton this pregnancy and so I found this recipe and I made it work for us. Hutch like sit a lot, too, because he doesn't have time to brew coffee int eh morning. I've been … [Read more...]

Week 1 Pinterest Challenge

I didn't really sift through Pinterest with Miss Gaia this week before her father scooped her away for his turn. She is still wrapped up in all her Christmas gifts anyway. She did do some crafting of her own, using the fashion headband kit that my mother sent for her birthday last month. She's also apparently learning to sketch, which I am extremely proud of. Keep in mind that she just turned five. I could be totally wrong, but I feel like this is excellent progress as far as her artistic talent goes. She loves to write and draw and paint and I love it. She's so awesome. What did mama learn to do this week? Well I utilized Pinterest to … [Read more...]

Pinteresting Monday

I know you've all probably heard about the legalities of Pinterest by now. I wanted to explain my stance a bit. I'm not deleting my pinterest boards. I make sure that the pins have links back to where the photo was taken from. I create links all the time because I see pinterest as a place for bookmarks. Also, my counter argument is that Facebook is way more popular and with the new share feature everyone has access to everything and I even have a few friends who save the images and put them in a "funny" folder, or what have you. Not to mention where the pages get their images from. You are always going to have someone try to rip off your … [Read more...]
