Summertime Sun Catcher Craft (inspired by The Dollar Tree)

Summer is out, and for me it's quite the adjustment having both kids all day long. My daughter is under some impression that every single day has to have either a field trip of huge, messy science experiment. She is so crazy! Luckily Florida summers have tons do rain so I can force her to sit inside and do arts and crafts instead. We had a big storm come through central Florida earlier this week, so we needed something to keep us busy most of the day. Luckily The Dollar Tree has tons of neat things to choose from. After just one inexpensive outing we were all set for our Summertime Sun Catcher craft. For this activity you will need the … [Read more...]

Lamaze Brings Spring Smiles

As you all know, I love a good deal. I also love to spoil my children. When those elements of my life align it makes for a great time in my home. One of the ways that I save money on brands we love is by buying at wholesale prices. I am part of a great co-op group on Facebook and last summer we managed to snag so amazing prices on Lamaze toys. I've given some of them away as Anders has grown past dangle toys, but a few still remain popular. Wiggle worm and hedgehog, to be exact. As you can see we're all smiles now that spring has sprung! The light shines in, windows are open, and playtime is a hoot! The bright colors and textures of Lamaze … [Read more...]

Walgreens Healthcare Clinic Cincinnati Saved My Vacation

Disclaimer: I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This content has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its client. All health related suggestions and opinions expressed in this post are all my own. #HealthcareClinic #CollectiveBias So I just got home from my Spring Break road trip thing. Not that traveling with kids is ever a fantabulous vacation, but the winter on-off switch tried it's best to make matters worse. We arrived in Northern Kentucky with beautiful 60 degree weather, but before long it was below freezing and snowing. It warmed up again before we left. By that … [Read more...]

St. Patrick’s Day Craft: Window Rainbow

We've been getting the weirdest weather here in Central Florida. I forget that other places are all in the middle of some crazy-long winter without an end in sight. I am lucky that the second hand stores are already purging their winter stock with $1 sales and $5 grab bags, or I'd be S.O.L. for my trip next week. It did rain today, which I assumed would bring in some cooler weather for sure. We do have a light breeze, but for the most part everything is still a bit muggy. That's Florida for you. Good thing The Dollar Tree carries such a huge selection of craft supplies and inspiration for every holiday. This year I decided to skip the door … [Read more...]

College Tip: Rent Your Textbooks

I'm slowly but surely making my way towards that fabulous Bachelor's degree. This degree is going to be the big accomplishment for me. I struggled hard to get my AA, and now I'm putting in so much of myself into obtaining my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. It's been a steady push forward and I'm proud of myself for remaining consistent in my efforts. Because I attend school online most people don't realize I am still a college student. The first year of this journey was entirely with online texts so there would be no physical proof of my enrollment had I not decided to openly share this information. However, since I'm at the half-way … [Read more...]

Game Smarter, Not Harder

I admit it, I don't get much down time these days. Two kids, lots of schoolwork, field work, housekeeping, and blogging all keep me busy busy busy. However, the winter holiday leaves me with quite a bit of mama time. The fiance has shorter work weeks, the kids are all perfectly content with relaxed bedtimes, and (assuming I schedule things correctly) I don't have classes or field work for a whole two weeks! My recreational activity of choice is gaming. I've always been into gaming, preferably on a well equipped home desktop. I do own a Nintendo 64, Wii, and Xbox 360. But when it comes to all-out entertainment I definitely go for PC … [Read more...]

Holiday Shopping at Carter’s

Disclaimer: I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Carter’s. I received a gift card to facilitate my shopping trip and to thank me for participating. All opinions are 100% my own. I shall not tell lies! I love shopping for adorable clothes. Although we don't have the funds to go all out, I love to take advantage of a good deal when I see one. When I was made aware of Carter's Friends and Family event this holiday season, I knew it was the best way to stock up on awesome attire for all of the sweet little people in my life. Carter's has some great deals going on right now, and along with the 25% off … [Read more...]

A Dollar Tree Christmas

I am very stressed out when it comes to the holidays. I like to keep things cheap and simple and still try to have fun. One of my favorite stores year-round is The Dollar Tree. When it comes to Christmas shopping, it gets even more exciting because it's the best place for miscellaneous craft supplies, inspiration, and gift giving cheer. Every year we make ornaments and I always try to include the kids as much as possible in this process. Last year we made reindeer fingerprint ornaments with supplies I already had on hand. This year I decided to revisit salt dough (1 cup flour, 1/2 cup each of salt and water). I used the kids fingerprints all … [Read more...]

We’re now officially part of #ClubFreshStep!

Disclaimer: I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. I was compensated for this post, however all thoughts and opinions are my own. I shall not tell lies! It's been a while since I talked about my kitties. I admit that my love for my fur babies fades for a brief period in time when I have a new baby in the house. They shed, they invade my space, and they have this box of litter to remind me of how gross having cats can be. I have been trying to move past that as a mom for the second time, and thanks to the new and improved formula for Fresh Step Odor Shield I can move past the gross factor and concentrate on my love … [Read more...]
